REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuant to M.G.L. Chapter 7C Section 44-58, the Town of Weymouth (Awarding Authority), requests proposals for consulting services for Whitman’s Pond Annual Work Planning, Monitoring and Reporting 2025-2027.

The proposals must respond to the requirements set forth in the Request for Qualifications (RFQ).

The objective of the RFQ is to select consulting services relative to the management of invasive aquatic plants within Whitman’s Pond for the years 2025- 2027. Whitman’s Pond is a 186-acre pond in Weymouth comprising of three basins. The Pond supports one of the more significant herring runs in the state and the south cove is part of the town water supply. The pond suffers significantly from invasive aquatic plants- fanwort and variable-leaf milfoil primarily and curly-leaf pondweed to a lesser extent.

The Request for Qualifications will be available by emailing procurement@weymouth.ma.us after 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday April 9, 2025  Respondents must provide all contact information.

There will be a virtual informational meeting on Tuesday April 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM.  All candidates are strongly encouraged to attend. The briefing session will give candidates an opportunity to discuss the project with Town Staff, to better understand the Scope of Work.

Questions must be submitted in writing to procurement@weymouth.ma.us 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday April 22, 2025. Answers will be provided in the form of an addendum by 3:00 P.M. on Monday April 28, 2025.

Proposals must be received on or before 4:00 P.M. on Friday May 2, 2025 at the Town of Weymouth Department of Asset Management located at 111 Middle Street Weymouth, MA 02189. Responses submitted after this time will not be accepted.
