NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

DESCRIPTION: The Town of Pittsboro proposes to add sidewalk improvements along
NC-87.
BID OPENING:
AUGUST 6th, 2026 at 11:00 AM
The Town of Pittsboro in conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Transportation
Division 8 is requesting bids for the above subject Contract Proposal. The Contractor is to
furnish labor, material, and equipment.
The date of availability for this contract is the issued date of the Notice to Proceed.
The completion date for this contract is 120 days from the Notice to Proceed.
Prospective bidders have an opportunity to attend a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting in
person on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
For this advertisement, sealed bids must be received in THE TOWN OF PITTSBORO, 287
EAST STREET, PO BOX 759, PITTSBORO, NC 27312 by 11:00 AM on Thursday, August
6th, 2026. Bidders shall drop off bid prior to the bid opening between the hours of 8:30 AM and
5:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
Bids must be submitted on the official bid sheets included in the proposal and display the
following statement on the front of the envelope:
Name and Address of Company and
“QUOTATION FOR – BN-0012: TOWN LAKE PARK SIDEWALK TO BE OPENED AT
11:00 AM ON, AUGUST 6th, 2026.”
If delivered by mail, the sealed envelope shall be placed in another sealed envelope and
the outer envelope shall be addressed as follows:

Each proposal shall indicate the full business name and address of the Bidder and shall
be signed by him with the usual signature.
Questions will only be received in written form by email to
bschmadeke@pittsboronc.gov. The deadline to submit written questions is 5:00 PM
on July 29th, 2026. Responses to questions will be posted in an addendum and will be
made available by 5:00 PM on July 31st, 2026. Each bidder shall make
acknowledgement of receipt of all addendums in the space provided in the Bid Form.
PAPER BIDS (UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED IN THE PROJECT SPECIAL
PROVISIONS) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING PROJECT WILL
BE PUBLICLY READ AT TOWN OF PITTSBORO TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 287
EAST STREET, SUITE 221, PITTSBORO, NC 27312 AT 11:00 AM ON August 6th, 2026.
NO PAPER BIDS WILL BE RECEIVED AFTER 11:00 AM.
The Town of Pittsboro, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights of 1964
(78 Stat.252) and the Regulations of the Department of Transportation (49 C.F.R., Part 21),
issued pursuant to such act, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that the
contract entered into pursuant to this notice will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder(s)
without discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, color, or national origin.
Contractors must be pre-qualified by NCDOT prior to bidding on this project. If you have
