The Town of Chester, Massachusetts (the "Town"), is a small rural community located in Hampden County in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts. The selected firm shall assist the Town with the sale of various properties, which shall include but not be limited to the following steps: * Act as seller's agent on behalf of the Town of Chester * Assist with marketing and advertising of the Properties on MLS * Provide the Town with technical assistance, marketing strategy and pricing throughout the process in helping to identify qualified buyers * Assist the Town with analyzing & negotiation process with buyers * Work with the Town Treasurer, Assessor, Tax Collector, Chief Procurement Officer and others to negotiate the sale of properties with buyers * Assist the town with final disposition of property following selection of a qualified Buyer through the final closing The proposal should include a cover letter detailing qualifications, experience and the company profile of the broker/firm in detail. Please provide any other information that may be useful in evaluating the Proposer. This can include sales data and any statistics pertaining to sales in the Chester area or Western Massachusetts. Preference may be given to brokers/firms with sales in the Chester area who have been in the business for more than 10 years and know the market well. In addition to the cover letter, the proposal must contain a completed "Price Proposal Sheet," the form of which is included herein as Attachment A of this RFP. Proposers must: * Be licensed as a real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; * Have a minimum of [five (5)] years of experience providing real estate brokerage services; * Demonstrate experience with municipal or public sector property transactions (preferred); * Be in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons; * Be able to provide professional references; and * Not be an elected, or appointed, official in the Town of Chester or an employee of the Town of Chester.
