2026TM-02 Stony Brook Pond Dam Improvements

The Town of Middleborough, acting through its Conservation Commission is soliciting bids for the following services in accordance with Chapter 30, §39M, Massachusetts General Law.

“2026TM-02 Stony Brook Pond Dam Improvements”

The estimated value is Not to Exceed $1,150,000.00. All contracts must be strictly awarded in accordance with the requirements of this Invitation for Bids (IFB). The Town of Middleborough has no discretion under the law to consider bids that fail to comply with those requirements, except for minor informalities as permitted by MGL. If it becomes necessary to revise any part of the IFB or otherwise provide additional information, all addenda related to this IFB will be posted exclusively on the Engineer’s host site. Bidders are responsible for checking the website regularly for any updates, corrections, or additional information issued during the bidding period.
No addenda will be distributed directly to bidders; the host site shall serve as the official and sole source for all bid documents.

beginning June 11, 2026, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:45 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am and 12:00 pm on Fridays, excluding holidays.

There will be a mandatory pre-bid meeting held at the site on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 10 am located at 67 East Main Street, Middleborough, MA.  Attendees may park at the Pratt Farm Conservation Area parking lot.  The meeting will be moved from the parking area to the dam site no earlier than 10:10 am.

Sealed bids including a hard copy and an electronic copy on a flash drive are due no later than Thursday, July 9th, 2026 at 10:00 am and should be mailed or delivered to Patricia Cassady, Conservation Agent at Middleborough Town Hall Annex, 20 Centre Street, 2nd Floor, Middleborough, MA 02346. All bids must be received by this date and time to be considered.

Prevailing wages as determined by the Department of Labor and Industries under the provisions of Massachusetts General Law c. 149, s.26 apply to this contract. A 5% bid bond is required based on the not to exceed value of $1,150,000.00 and must be submitted with the submitted bid. Payment and performance bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract value will be required for the successful bidder with the signed contract.

OSHA 10 certification to be submitted with bid and is required for any worker performing work on Town property. The Town of Middleborough reserves the right to reject any or all bids when it deems to be in the best interest of the Town. A contract award will be made within 30 days after the bid opening.
