Description
Haines Borough intends to upgrade its Lily Lake Water Treatment Plant.
The major scope items for the upgrade are listed below:
- Tie into the existing 8” raw water line south of the WTP and route the line into the Flocculation
- Tank room. Install a 6” x 8” reducer, a 6” pressure reducing valve, a 6” flow meter, and a 6” static mixer upstream of the Flocculation Tank.
-
Replacement of original ductile iron pipe and fittings with new ductile iron pipe and fittings in
the WTP. - Replace aging pneumatic control valves in kind.
- Replace filter isolation butterfly valves and add multi-turn valves for manual throttling.
- Replace the existing pressure regulator valves.
-
Provide a new control panel and relocate the control station to the south corner of the Filter room.
Correct controls wiring issues not meeting code or industry standards as applicable. Provide
proper cable shielding and supports for cabling. -
Provide a balanced pipe arrangement so the piping to each of the three filter tanks imparts
similar head losses through the supply and return headers, associated valves, the filter tanks,
and the filtered water supply header. -
Provide a booster pump to boost the pressure of potable water to be used for backwash
application. - Slip line the 24” buried steel line between the WTP and the FAA Tank with a 10” HDPE line.
- All wetted materials shall be NSF-61 certified.
