Tractor Rental Contract - District 6
Tractor rental, new and current model, equipped as advertised by the manufacturer, to meet or exceed the following
minimum specifications:
SPECIFICATIONS
General Requirements
The vendor shall provide twenty-eight (28) tractors new and of current model for rent at various locations in District 6,
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, in accordance with the provisions and requirements stated herein. This will be an eight-month
rental period which begins April 15th and ends December 15th of each year. Units will be delivered by the vendor to MDOT
(Mississippi Department of Transportation) on or before April 15th, but not before April 1st of each year. The vendor will
pick up units on or after December 15th and before December 31st of each year.
Unless otherwise specified herein, the vendor shall furnish all material, labor, facilities, equipment, and supplies
necessary to provide the deliverables required herein.
Equipment must comply with the MDOT specifications and any other provisions outlined in the solicitation documents.
The vendor must respond to each of the following statements. Specifications listed are minimum requirements that
must be met in order for a vendor to qualify for an award. A "YES" response means the vendor guarantees that they meet
this requirement. A "NO" response means the vendor cannot meet the requirement and will not be considered. The
vendor must supply printed literature that shows compliance with each requirement of the Equipment Specifications and, if
on inspection, an item is found not to be in compliance, the unit(s) will be rejected.

Engine: Liquid cooled diesel

Tractors outside the parameters of this engine horsepower range will not be accepted.

Transmission: Tractors must have a transmission with either hydrostat, CVT, or a minimum of 8 synchronized forward
gears with wet clutches and power reversing ability. A hydraulic shuttle shift allowing the tractor to go from
forward to reverse without clutching shall be standard.

Seat: Super-deluxe heavy-duty industrial with foam padded upholstered seat cushion and backrest. Seat shall
have complete vertical and horizontal adjustment with coil spring or equal type shock absorber
suspension and tension adjustment. Seat can be either mechanical or air.

Hydraulics: The unit shall have live hydraulics with three (3) double-acting auxiliary valves, two (2) with float positions
and detents.

Additional Requirements
Training: The vendor/manufacturer shall provide a minimum of one (1) day of in-service training at a location
selected by MDOT. The training shall be provided by factory personnel. The training shall be set up as a
morning and afternoon class. The classes shall be hands-on maintenance and operational training on the
units being provided through the contract.

include oil and filter changes, and addressing any coding that may be logged by the unit. The oil change

shall include removal and disposal of oil and filter. The servicing of the equipment shall be completed
within seven (7) business days of MDOT's notification.
