Project Title: The Burnette Building Repair Project
Description: The City of Rocky Mount is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to restore spaces that received water damage due to sewer backup. Repairs at 188 E Thomas will address water damage in the kitchen area of the residential unit caused by a dishwasher malfunction. Work includes the removal of base cabinets, dishwasher, shoe molding, and trim, followed by the application of an anti-microbial agent to the affected floor. New lower cabinets, a replacement dishwasher, shoe molding, and trim will be installed using materials that match the existing finishes. The kitchen flooring will be removed and replaced to match the original, while the existing countertop, refrigerator, and stove will be retained and reused. Final repairs will include painting and finishing work to match existing surfaces. At 196 E Thomas, a commercial office space, needs the removal of damaged ceilings, walls, and floor coverings. Anti-microbial treatment will be applied to all affected surface areas, followed by the replacement of all impacted walls, ceilings, and flooring to restore the space to its pre-loss condition.
