In accordance with the State of Florida Consultant’s Competitive Negotiation Act, F.S. 287.055, the City of Winter Haven (City) is requesting qualification submittals from firms permitted by law to practice Professional Engineering and Landscape Architecture in the state of Florida who specialize and have extensive experience in municipal projects. Consideration will be given only to those firms that are qualified pursuant to law and that have been prequalified by FDOT to perform work type 3.1 – Minor Highway Design. Consultants (prime or sub) shall be experienced and prequalified by FDOT in Lighting (Work Category 7.2), Signalization (Work Category 7.3), Control Surveying (Work Category 8.1), and Design, Right of Way, and Construction Surveying (Work Category 8.2). All interested Firms are required to comply with Florida Statute 287.055, as applicable.
The City has been awarded federal funding through the FDOT Local Agency Program (LAP) to construct sidewalk, turn lanes, drainage and landscape enhancements along 6th Street SW, from Avenue G SW to US Highway 17.
The services sought are the survey, design, and permitting of complete street improvements per FDOT Design Standards along 6th Street SW from south of Avenue G SW to US 17, in Winter Haven, Florida. A project distance of approximately 0.20 miles. The work primarily consists of a new ADA compliant pedestrian walkway system including concrete sidewalks, crosswalks, pavement markings, and other appurtenances.
