13th Street / Sands Point Drive Bridge Replacement (PID 000971A)

This project consists of the replacement of the 13 ^th Street bridge over Mud Bayou. The project includes reconstruction of the roadway approaches, curb, gutter, sidewalk, and installation of 8” reclaimed water and 12” potable water lines under the canal via horizontal directional drill.

The preliminary engineering report performed in 2018 determined the existing bridge, constructed in 1957, should be replaced due to section loss to the existing 14” concrete piles, unknown shear capacity of existing concrete beams and functional obsolescence of the bridge.
