Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.

The 325th Operations Support Squadron at Tyndall AFB has a requirement for 32 each, water purification systems to be placed in an emergency life raft kit. The Katadyn MROD Survivor-06-LL1-RES is a critical life-saving device used by aircrew for emergency water purification following an ejection or egress over water. Its reliability is paramount to pilot survival while awaiting rescue. In accordance with Technical Order (T.O.) 14S-3-51, Table 7.10, the Katadyn MROD is the only water purification system approved for use in the aircrew survival kit assembly. This specific brand and model is mandated because it is the only system that meets the requested requirements.
