Telecom: Intrado Viper 911 Sys – State Patrol (DPS Only)

The Department of Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), partnering with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS), intends to renew an agreement with Lumen Technologies, Inc., also known as Centurylink Communications, LLC, for up to 36 months, for support and maintenance to the Intrado Viper 911 System for three (3) DPS locations: Rochester (SRCC), Roseville (RTMC) and the St. Paul Capitol Security.

The support provided is for hardware and software maintenance. The equipment and Viper platform were initially installed and integrated into the State Patrol Communications system by Lumen technicians. It is integral to continue service to this platform due to the critical infrastructure support that is provided by the network.

DPS determined there are no other commercially available 911 providers that have the capacity, knowledge, or training to provide support to this platform. For these reasons, DPS has determined that this a single source purchase.
