The Thruway Authority conducts public bid openings. Visitors who choose to hand deliver a bid and/or witness the bid opening are limited to one person. The Thruway Authority also uses YouTube to broadcast its live bid openings. Sealed bids must be hand delivered, or delivered by first class mail, USPS Express or Priority Mail, or overnight delivery service (e.g., FedEx, UPS) to the New York State Thruway Authority Headquarters Building, at the following address only : New York State Thruway Authority, 200 Southern Boulevard Albany, NY 12209.

Sealed bids should not be sent or delivered to any other address or location, and the Authority is not responsible for any late deliveries or misdirected bids.

Regardless of the delivery method selected, all sealed bids, whether paper or electronic form, must be delivered by 10:30 AM, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, where they will be opened publicly and read aloud at 11:00 AM. Any bids sent or delivered to an address or location other than the one specified above, or received after this time, will not be accepted.

Contract TAS 24-21B / D214922 – Replacement of the NYS Thruway (I-90) Bridge over Mohawk Street (Route 28) at Milepost 219.91 in Herkimer County in accordance with the Plans and Specifications.

Your bid must be secured with either a Bid Bond or a Bid Deposit. A Bid Bond must be in the amount of 5% of the total bid and must be on the Authority’s Bid Bond Form (TA-44117) which is included in the Proposal. A Bid Deposit must be a certified check or cashier’s check made payable to the New York State Thruway Authority in the amount of $1,500,000.00.

SPECIAL NOTE

The New York State Thruway Authority has discontinued the practice of reproducing and furnishing full-size and half-size plans to Contractors after contract award. Contractors shall be responsible for their own hard copies of plans and proposals at no additional cost to the Authority.
