    Project Description:

The Minnesota Department of Transportation intends to enter into a 5 year/60-month Agreement with Motorola for System support and software subscription for ARMER (Allied Radio Matrix for Emergency Response), Minnesota’s statewide shared public safety radio communications system. Dedicated field service technician, system software subscription, factory technical support of the ARMER System are all included project elements. This project also includes upgrades to some of the ARMER equipment needed before certain levels of upgrade software can be loaded and put into operation.

This product has been deemed a single source due to these factors:

    • Motorola provided the radio infrastructure equipment and system software used in the ARMER System.
    • In expanding this system, it is the intent to purchase only those elements of the ARMER System that are exclusively provided by Motorola.
    • Motorola is the exclusive manufacturer of the infrastructure backbone radio communications equipment used in the ARMER System.
    • Motorola has the engineering, manufacturing, technical support staffs that are capable of upgrading and expanding the existing system.
