Notice to Contractors
Sealed bids for South Main Improvement Phase II & Pedestrian Enhancement, STP-4301104 & TAP-4301106, will
be received at: City of Maryville, Public Safety Facility, 101 N. Vine Street, Maryville, MO 64468 until 2:00
o'clock P.M. (Prevailing Local Time) on May 14, 2024 at the office of the City Clerk, and at that time will be
publicly opened and read. All bids shall be submitted in the form of the Bid Form found in the bidding documents.
Bid security will be required in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed
envelope marked “Bid for “South Main Improvement Phase II & Pedestrian Enhancement, STP-4301104 & TAP-
4301106, Maryville, Missouri”. Bids received after the designated closing time will be returned unopened.
The proposed work includes: Reconstruction of approximately 0.7-mile section of South Main Street Corridor
from State Highway V to 285th Street. The work consists of storm sewer system improvement, full depth street
widening, mill and overlay, traffic signals, lighting, sidewalk, landscaping, and improvement to existing driveway
accesses.
Copies of plans and specifications can be seen or purchased for a Non-Refundable fee on-line at
www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room, additional assistance is available at
distribution@drexeltech.com. Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the
website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such
documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, KS 66214, telephone number is 913-
371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related
charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc. Also, a
complete set of bidding documents will be available for examination at the City of Maryville, Public Safety
Facility, 101 N. Vine Street, Maryville, MO 64468.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 PM on April 30, 2024 at City of Maryville, Public Safety Facility,
101 N. Vine Street, Maryville, MO 64468. All bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting.
All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailing
hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Labor and
Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher.
The City of Maryville, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract
entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically
disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will
not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in
consideration for an award.
All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 from the current version of the
Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, including all revisions. The contractor questionnaire
must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.
Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project provide a 10-Hour OSHA
construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, to
be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project.
A certified or cashier’s check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with each proposal.
The City of Maryville, Missouri reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The DBE Goal for this project is 6% with OJT 2.
No 2nd tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
