SUNRISE ELEMENTARY LOW-SLOPE ROOF REPLACEMENT

The City of Charlottesville is requesting bids for IFB 26-59 for SUNRISE ELEMENTARY LOW-SLOPE ROOF REPLACEMENT .

Project Description:
This project consists of replacing the existing low-slope roof system at Sunrise Elementary School with a new fully adhered EPDM roofing system and associated components in accordance with the Contract Documents. The project is intended to address aging materials, improve long-term performance, and reduce the risk of future water intrusion.

Sunrise Elementary School is a critical component of the City’s elementary education facilities. The existing low-slope roof system has reached the end of its useful service life and has experienced performance issues that increase the risk of water intrusion and associated damage to building systems and interior spaces.

Construction will occur during the summer break, when the building is minimally occupied by essential staff, including custodial and administrative personnel. The limited construction window requires careful sequencing and coordination to ensure the roof system is fully installed and watertight prior to the start of the school year. Protection of building occupants, interior spaces, and ongoing operations is a key consideration throughout construction.
