VSU is currently seeking to prequalify contractors to receive as many fully qualified Offerors as possible to bid on the new Student Union Wellness Center. The Contractor shall build the new +/- 32,000 GSF VSU Student Wellness building according to the drawings provided. The building has a two-story volume that includes wellness areas, dance and exercise studios, and an indoor multipurpose basketball court. The exterior material palette includes brick masonry with an architectural precast concrete base. Full-height aluminum curtainwall openings, along with punched window openings, are incorporated to allow natural light to come into the building. A translucent wall system, to reduce glare, will be used on the upper level of the multi-purpose basketball court. The roof will be a single-ply membrane with an aluminum panel/framing system to screen rooftop-mounted mechanical equipment.
