Description

STREETLIGHT CONDUIT INSTALLATION IN INGRAM, TEXAS Request for Proposal

The Kerrville Public Utility Board (KPUB) is soliciting proposals for conduit installation on TX Hwy 39 in Ingram, TX to provide service to six existing street light poles as shown on attached drawing.  Conduit is stubbed from each pole and needs to be extended to existing utility poles.  Contractor will provide as needed HydroVac for location and depth of existing underground utilities and trenching in areas with close proximity to existing utilities.  Hill Country Telephone Coop (HCTC) is the only utility who responds to DigTess for locations in Ingram so contractor will need to call 811 for additional locates.

Conduit will be provided by KPUB to the successful bidder.  All conduit is 1” schedule 40 PVC and shall be installed with minimum 24” cover.  Select backfill will not be required if contractor assures bottom of the trench is smooth and has no rocks or sharp objects on or below the conduit.  The backfill over the first 2” the conduit shall be fine material from the excavation.  Marker tape to be installed 12” below grade for the entire length of all trenches.  Conduit stubbed up each KPUB pole should be flush with the pole.

Extreme caution needs to be taken for all possible utilities.  Aqua America water has meters evident in the right of way but other utilities may be present which have not responded to location for design purposes.

Traffic should not be interrupted on TX Hwy 39 so work should be performed behind the sidewalk area.
