Bid opening for the 2025 Street Mill & Overlay Project will be at the Utilities Service Center, 140 Harvest Street, Garden City, Kansas, on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. However, sealed bids will need to be mailed to the City of Garden City Kansas, P.O. Box 998, Garden City, Kansas 67846 with Street Mill & Overlay Project put on the outside of the envelope and received before 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025,.
The work consists of the following major items:

Milling 2” of Asphalt from 23,093 SY of scheduled city streets shown on map.

Overlay with 2” HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) commercial mix in the area milled with tack oil applied between the milled surface and new HMA.

Provide all proper WORK ZONE equipment needed for the project consistent with the MUTCD standards.
All bids shall be on the printed proposal forms, which may be obtained from the Public Works Office. Located at 105 S 10th St The proposal form shall be the contract to supply the materials and perform the required work for the unit price bid on the proposal form for the summer of 2025, May 1 through August 22, on an as-needed basis. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least thirty (30) days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
