Description
Description
The State of Iowa will be undertaking a comprehensive, statewide inventory and needs analysis of all state-owned real estate, leased facilities, and other property-related ventures. Its purpose is to evaluate the current utilization of state assets and identify properties that are underused, obsolete, or no longer aligned with the state’s core mission.
As a result of this assessment, the State will take appropriate action on properties that are no longer necessary for the State to own or where duplicate services are readily available through the private sector. These actions may include property sales, transfers to local governments, or the establishment of public-private management agreements. By doing so, the State aims to eliminate ongoing maintenance liabilities, reduce risk exposure, and reallocate resources to higher-priority needs.
