2025 Stormwater System Brick Arch Cleaning and Inspection Services of Historic Bricks Arches Project

The City of Charleston (City) requests General Contractor Pre-Qualification Proposals for a Task Order Contract (TOC) to provide video-inspection, cleaning, and reporting of the City’s Historic Brick Arches in the stormwater drainage system located on the Charleston Peninsula. The brick arches, typically 3’ wide by 5’ high, date from the mid-1800’s and have experienced loss of mortar, bricks, and wood flooring, leaving them fragile and subject to failure. Any brick arch repairs will be made under a separate contract. The TOC is for one calendar year with three one-year extensions at the option of the City. Work is expected to include the removal of sediment, leaves, contaminants, and debris from brick arches and catch basins and manholes and their lateral connections, as well as pot-holing, pipe-jetting, and root cutting, to maintain the flow of surface water into and through the stormwater drainage system in such a manner as to protect and preserve the brick arches.
