Summary
The Sanford Airport Authority owns and operates Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), located in Sanford, Florida within the greater Orlando region. Originally constructed as Naval Air Station Sanford, the airport has evolved into a key commercial aviation facility serving Central Florida. As the region’s secondary commercial service airport, SFB provides convenient access to major destinations including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando.
Allegiant Air operates a significant base of operations at SFB, and the airport primarily serves domestic passenger traffic. The Sanford Airport Authority is committed to maintaining and improving airport facilities, including critical infrastructure such as stormwater management systems, to support safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.
The Sanford Airport Authority (SAA) is soliciting competitive, sealed proposals from interested and qualified firms to provide construction services for the Stormwater Pond Upgrade project, which includes the following items:
- Pond expansion to the south of existing stormwater pond.
- Relocate existing perimeter road to be outside the pond expansion limits.
- Fill in north portion of pond that is north of existing taxilane hold bar to the east
- Clear and grub the area between existing overflow ditch and existing pond and grade the area to be mowable.
- Regrade existing pond to remove all 6:1 slopes and replace with 4:1 slopes.
- Remove and replace the existing pipe under the fence southeast of the existing pond.
The Sanford Airport Authority (Owner) has a Cone of Silence applicable to all competitive procurement processes which places restrictions on communications. Refer to the Cone of Silence in the Solicitation document for more information. All inquiries regarding this Solicitation must be submitted in writing to the Sanford Airport Authority Procurement Department via OpenGov. The Bidder must supply all information and documents required by the Solicitation documents through the Owner’s e-Procurement Portal located at https://secure.procurenow.com/portal/flysfb by the Bid Submittal Time and Date.
Timeline
Attendance at the mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. Individuals from interested Firms must be physically present and sign the official sign-in sheet to be considered in attendance. The conference will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Individuals that have not signed in at the time the sign-in sheet is collected will be deemed non-responsive and will not be eligible to submit a bid.
This meeting is mandatory. You must have attended the mandatory pre-bid in order to participate in the site visit. The site visit will take place directly after the mandatory pre-bid.
