Public notice is hereby given that sealed bids for Project No. 2024150.02, will be received by the State of
Delaware, Sussex County Vocational Technical School District, at the Existing Sussex Tech High School
located at 17137 County Seat Highway, Georgetown Delaware 19947 until 2:00pm local time on
August 4, 2026 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Library. Bidder bears the risk
of late delivery. Any bids received after the stated time will be returned unopened.
Project involves the construction of a new West Pavilion Field House, Ag Building and Greenhouse. This is a
construction management project. Bids are to be for the following contracts:
C-1: Concrete Work C-8: Drywall/Metal Stud
C-2: Masonry Work C-9: Painting/Caulking
C-3: Steel Work C-10: Mechanical
C-4: Carpentry & General Work C-11: Electrical
C-5: Roofing Work C-12: Post Frame Construction
C-6: Furnish Hollow Metal/Doors/Hardware C-13: Greenhouse
C-7: Aluminum Storefront/Glass & Glazing
Attention is called to construction schedule as detailed in the Bid Documents.
A NON-MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on July 7, 2026, at 9:00amat the Existing Sussex Tech
High School located at 17137 County Seat Highway, Georgetown Delaware 19947 in the Library for the
purpose of establishing the listing of subcontractors and to answer questions. ATTENDANCE OF THIS
MEETING IS NOT A PREREQUISITE FOR BIDDING ON THIS CONTRACT.
Sealed bids shall be addressed to Sussex County Vocational Technical School District, Attn: Superintendent
Dr. Kevin Carson. The outer envelope should clearly indicate: "Sussex Technical High School Project No.
2024150.02, Company Name, Contract you are bidding, SEALED BID - DO NOT OPEN."
Construction documents will be available for review at the office of Richard Y Johnson & Son, Inc.
Contract documents may be purchased at DiCarlo Printers, located at 2006 Northwood Drive, Salisbury MD,
21801 or RCI Printing and Graphics located at 298 Churchmans Road, New Castle DE, 19720. Electronic
documents will be made available on the website of Richard Y. Johnson & Son, Inc.'s www.ryjson.com under
plan room. It is the responsibility of each bidder to review and coordinate all project documents. This includes
plans, specifications and addendums. All documents will be available on the day of the pre-bid meeting on the
website on Richard Y. Johnson & Son, Inc. www.ryjson.com under plan room.

A bid security in the amount of 10% of the bid must accompany each bid. Bid Security shall specify the Owner

Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) and Women-Owned
Business Enterprises (WBE) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids on this contract and will not be
subject to discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin or sex in consideration of this award. Each
bid must be accompanied by a bid security equivalent to ten percent of the bid amount and all additive
alternates. The successful bidder must post a performance bond and payment bond in a sum equal to 100
percent of the contract price upon execution of the contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all
bids and to waive any informalities therein. The Owner may extend the time and place for the opening of the
bids from that described in the advertisement, with not less than two calendar days notice by certified delivery,
facsimile machine or other electronic means to those bidders receiving plans.
