The work involves replacing an existing water line in 1st Avenue

including a jack and bore cased crossing beneath Highway 99, 12-inch PVC and restrained joint

Ductile Iron pipe, isolation valves, fire hydrants, water service lines, a pressure reducing station,

and connections to the existing system as described in the project plans and specifications.

Qualifications:
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who has not been licensed in accordance with the
provisions of the State Business and Professions Code. The Contractor's license classification(s)
required for this project are as follows: Class “A” General Engineering Contractor’s License. These
classifications are provided for information purposes only. The Engineer does not warrant that all
classifications required for the project are listed.
Special Requirements:
The Contractor’s duty to pay State prevailing wages can be found under Labor Code
Section 1770 et. Seq. and Labor Code Sections 1775 and 1777.7 outline the penalties for
failure to pay prevailing wages and employ apprentices including forfeitures and
debarment.
Miscellaneous:
The successful Contractor and his Sub-Contractors will be required to possess the correct license
for their project classifications, and valid City Business Licenses from the City of Delano.

The City Council of the City reserves the right to select the schedule(s) under which the bids are
to be compared, and contract(s) awarded, to reject any and all bids, and to waive any
nonmaterial irregularities in any bid.
