To whom it may concern:
This letter supports UMMC's Sole Source Justification for procurement of the Rocket Alumni
Solutions recognition display platform. It addresses each of UMMC's three criteria below:
unique functionality, the specific business objectives UMMC requires that functionality to serve,
and exclusive provider status.
1. Unique Functionality
Rocket Alumni Solutions provides a proprietary, end-to-end interactive recognition display
platform that combines four capabilities under a single vendor:
* A purpose-built touchscreen content management system (CMS) developed in-house
specifically for interactive donor, staff, and legacy recognition. It is not a generic digital signage
player, museum collection tool, or website builder adapted for kiosks. It ships with templates
and interaction patterns designed for donor walls, memorial tributes, staff and resident
recognition, and historical archives.
* A custom kiosk application that runs on Rocket-provisioned touchscreen hardware, with
remote monitoring, automatic recovery, offline content caching, and no required on-site IT
intervention for day-to-day updates.
* A responsive web companion that mirrors the on-site display, so the same curated content
reaches remote donors, alumni, staff, and the broader UMMC community through any browser.
* In-house design and a full-time content digitization team that converts existing print archives,
plaque text, donor registries, and photography into the platform at no added per-project cost.
No competing product combines these four elements from a single source. Commodity digital
signage products play media files but do not include an interactive recognition CMS,
donor-specific templates, or content services. Museum and archive tools manage collections
but provide no touchscreen kiosk application, no hardware provisioning, and no public-facing
interactive experience. Generic website or intranet platforms offer none of the above.
2. Specific Business Objectives UMMC Requires This Functionality For
UMMC's recognition program has the following objectives, each of which depends directly on
the unique functionality described above:
* Honor UMMC donors, benefactors, and philanthropic partners in an interactive on-site
experience that can be updated in real time as giving evolves, without print-reproduction lead
time or outside vendor dependency for ongoing changes.

* Recognize medical staff, residents, nurses, and frontline contributors in patient-facing and
staff-facing environments, with content managed by non-technical UMMC staff in Development,
Communications, and HR through a browser, with no ongoing IT ticket burden or per-update
fees.
* Consolidate hardware, software, content digitization, design, installation, and ongoing support
under a single accountable vendor. This simplifies UMMC's vendor risk assessment,
information-security review, and procurement oversight, because there is one contract, one
support point of contact, and no third-party reseller or integration layer in the chain.
* Maintain UMMC brand alignment across every recognition surface through in-house design
work included in the service, rather than coordinating separate design, CMS, hardware, and
installation vendors.
* Meet accessibility expectations (WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA public-space guidance) on every display
from day one, appropriate for a public medical-center environment.
* Keep the recognition platform outside of HIPAA scope. The platform stores only content
UMMC chooses to publish (donor names, staff photos, historical records). No patient data is
processed or stored, which materially reduces UMMC's information-security review burden.
These objectives cannot be met by assembling separate commodity products. Doing so would
reintroduce multi-vendor procurement, force UMMC to own integration across content,
hardware, and design providers, and remove the single-accountability structure UMMC's
procurement review is relying on.
3. Exclusive Provider
The Rocket Alumni Solutions software, kiosk application, and associated design and content
services are developed, owned, sold, and supported exclusively by Rocket Alumni Solutions Inc.
We do not license, resell, or distribute our platform through any third party. There are no
authorized resellers, distributors, or white-label partners. This specific product, with the
functionality described above, is only available directly from Rocket Alumni Solutions Inc.
