SR 20 and CR 83A West (West Bay Loop) Intersection Improvements and Signalization

The proposed project, hereinafter referred to as the “Project” consists of the construction of intersection improvements at SR 20 and CR 83A (W Bay Loop) west of Freeport, including turn lane extensions, multi-use path realignment, concrete traffic separator, resurfacing, drainage, signing, pavement markings, and traffic signalization, with the County supplying certain pre-procured signal components for contractor installation, subject to FDOT permit conditions.

Contract Time: The contract duration is ONE HUNDRED FIFTY (150) days to substantial completion with an additional THIRTY (30) days for punch list completion.

The SR 20 and CR 83A (W Bay Loop) intersection west of Freeport has been identified for safety and capacity improvements to better accommodate current and future traffic demands. This project, funded in part through the Florida Defense Infrastructure Grant, addresses operational issues by extending and adding turn lanes, improving pedestrian and bicycle facilities, upgrading drainage, and installing new traffic signalization. The County is procuring certain signalization components in advance to reduce lead times, with installation to be completed by the contractor under FDOT permit conditions.
