Within DHS, Child and Family Services Division (CFSD) has a particular interest in ensuring the safety, permanency, and well-being of the children and youth who reside in Arlington County. Engaging families in the support group process promotes the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and is central to successful practice. Effective family engagement occurs when practitioners actively collaborate and partner with family members throughout their involvement with the child welfare system, recognizing them as experts on their respective situations and empowering them in the process. |
