Place of Performance:
The Indian Arts and Crafts Board/Sioux Indian Museum (IACB/SIM), Department of the Interior, intends to award a sole source contract to The Journey Museum, Rapid City, South Dakota, for hosting of the IACB/SIM collection. The period of performance is May 23, 2026 through May 22, 2027, with four (4) 12-month option periods. The total estimated value of this contract including all option periods is $79,636.05. NAICS code 712110 applies.
The Journey Museum is the only regional facility interpreting Western Great Plains history with the capacity to house collections of the size and scope of the IACB/SIM collection. The IACB/SIM exhibitions include an extensive selection of historic clothing, horse gear, weapons, household implements, baby carriers, and toys representing the surrounding federally recognized Tribes of the region. These collections are essential to preserving and presenting the Lakota perspective. No other facility in the region has been identified through market research as capable of housing a collection of this nature and significance.
Responses to this notice must be received no later than May 14, 2026. Any response should demonstrate the respondent's capability to meet this requirement. Responses received will be evaluated to determine if competitive procedures should be used. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
