South Street Improvement Project Phase III – Athol, MA

The Town of Athol invites sealed bids for the South Street Improvement Project Phase III. The Town of Athol has completed the engineering design for Phase III of the South Street corridor reconstruction. This phase covers the section of South Street between Freedom Street and Tunnel Street. The project consists of furnishing all labor, tools, materials, and equipment necessary for 1) Roadway pavement replacement: 675-LF of full-depth asphalt pavement replacement from the
Freedom Street intersection to the culvert; 2) Mill and overlay: 70-LF of roadway milling and overlay from the culvert to the Tunnel Street intersection; and 3) Sidewalk improvements: 920-LF of ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk along the north side of South Street, extending from the Freedom Street intersection to the Tunnel Street intersection. This project is administered by the Town of Athol and the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC) and funded by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), FY2026 Athol Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.
