Description

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC.PCD) requests information on existing items which provide handheld gas analysis (gas analyzers). These analyzers are often used by marine chemists to detect the presence of life support metabolic gases as well as metabolic poisons. Shipboard Air quality Testing for breathing air should include water vapor, Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen, and Condensed oil. Highly desirable additional detection capabilities for Hydrogen Sulfide and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) (JP-5/diesel vapors, Xylene, and dimethylbenzene). Interest exists for commercially available gas detectors and/or sensors which are self-contained, lightweight (>5 lbs) and can be deployed in 3 minutes or less. Highly desirable is also an extended no calibration period of at least 12 months.
