Solid Waste Disposal Services

Project Description: The Township of Abington is seeking a qualified Contractor(s) by way of competitive bidding to provide all facilities, equipment, labor and services required to provide Bid 1: Direct-Haul Disposal; and/or Bid 2: Abington Transfer Station Operations, Maintenance, Transfer, Hauling and Disposal Services, as more fully described in the request for bids; or Bid 3: Disposal Services from Transfer Station. ALL BID documents are available at https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com/ and MUST be submitted electronically via PennBid.
Each bidder must submit a bid incorporating a price structure based on a per-ton cost for the services requested for the period from August 1, 2025 and extending for five (5) years, with a three (3) year optional extension, in accordance with the bid documents and the subsequent award of a Contract by the Township of Abington.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10 AM on May 5, 2025, at 995 Fitzwatertown Road, Abington, PA 19001.
All bids must be submitted electronically via PennBid in accordance with the bid documents by May 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., prevailing time at https://pennbid.bonfirehub.com/
A performance bond shall be submitted by each successful Respondent within twenty (20) days after a Contract is awarded for direct-haul disposal services and/or for Abington Transfer Station Operations, Maintenance, Transfer, and/or Hauling and Disposal Services, in the amount of 50% of the price bid by the successful Respondent based upon the 2024tonnage of the municipality and the five-(5) year period.
