Solid Waste Disposal Complex Lock Replacement

The Solid Waste department is requesting locksmith services to replace 173 door locks throughout 14 buildings/facilities on the Solid Waste Disposal Complex with a single lock type and key.

The Solid Waste Disposal Complex (SWDC) buildings, structures, gates, and equipment have been outfitted with various locks without a plan and have changed over time. There is no consistent or planned lock assignment for the SWDC buildings, structures, gates, and equipment. Coincidentally, keys have been distributed to employees without ownership documented in OPUS or documented on paper. Related to this, gate clickers have been distributed without ownership documentation, and badge access is inconsistent with employees’ roles and responsibilities.

Building keys have historically been distributed as backups for badge access during power outages or communication issues with badge readers.
