SOLE SOURCE NOTICE
In accordance with 10 U.S.C. § 3204(a)(1) and (2), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) intends to issue a sole source award to Pipe Dreams Marine, LLC for the replacement of the immigrant/small boat fantail awning located onboard the USCG Fast Response Cutter (FRC) ROBERT WARD (WPC 1130).
The required awning is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) component designed specifically for the FRC platform. Due to increased wear and tear resulting from elevated operations in response to the Presidential Declaration of National Emergency at the Southern Border, replacement is required to ensure continued mission readiness and crew safety.
The awning conforms to USCG FRC design specifications, set by Bollinger Shipyards, USCG Project Resident Office (PRO) Lockport, and the FRC Program Office, and is protected under U.S. Patent No. USD789273S. For additional information regarding patent information, please contact Kara Battin at 609.513.6516.
The OEM awning has a demonstrated a service life of 8–10 years and is not available from any other source without substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, nor would any alternate product satisfy agency requirements.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any responsible source that believes it can fulfill the requirement may submit a capability statement in writing. Responses must be received no later than Friday, 23 MAY 2025 by 1159 EASTERN STANDARD TIME and shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
