Notes:
On behalf of the Agronomy Department, Iowa State University is requesting bids
for a soil CO2 and N2O gas analyzer system to be used to measure and analyze
greenhouse gases in soils representative to Iowa's agricultural system.
Suppliers should read all materials carefully and note the due date.
Suppliers must direct all questions and comments in reference to this RFP to the
University Representative using the QUESTIONS tab via this electronic bid system.

1 INTENDED PURPOSE AND APPLICATION / SCOPE OF WORK
The equipment will be used by the Agronomy Department for measuring and analyzing greenhouse gas
levels (CO2, N2O) in soil, especially in Iowa's representative agricultural system (corn, soybean, and
sorghum).

2 EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria utilized for this RFP may be based upon, but not limited to the following criteria:
Ability to meet or exceed specifications
Lead time
Total Cost
Installation and training offered
Warranty/Customer Service
ISU reserves the right to waive minor differences in the stated specifications, if an offered system is found to be
substantially compliant, and its’ purchase would be in the University’s best interest.
Proposal Process and Ev aluation. The proposal process employed by ISU allows Suppliers latitude in responding
to the needs of ISU. The features and requirements stated Technical Specifications represent ISU’s best assessment
of technical requirements. Suppliers should communicate with ISU to ensure they understand the equipment
requirements of the university.

5 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

GPS-integrated, real-time N2O and CO2 data collection and analysis
includes a closed chamber for making the atmosphere near soil with appropriate accessories
ability to measure and record soil temperature and moisture
easily portable to various collection sites and includes appropriate power accessories to support multi-site
collection
software included
