The Minnesota Department of IT Services, on behalf of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, (Agency), intends to renew an agreement with Thermo LabSystems, Inc., for up to 24 months to provide licensing, maintenance and support related to MDA’s Nautilus Client Server laboratory information management system (LIMS) software. Nautilus LIMS software is used by the Agency to improve lab productivity and efficiency, by keeping track of data associated with samples, experiments, laboratory workflows, and instruments, as well as other lab related functions.

The Agency determined that the Nautilus LIMS software is the only commercially reasonably available commodity product that meets the Agency’s business needs. This is deemed a single source purchase because Thermo LabSystems, Inc., retains exclusive ownership rights and is solely responsible for providing the required licensing, support, maintenance, updates, and patches, and are not available from other third parties.
