Summary It is the intent of these plans and specifications to seek bids for entering into a contract for all direction, management, labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to perform the Snowmelt Heat Exchangers Service as specified herein.

City of Kalamazoo Michigan

Snowmelt (2) Heat Exchangers Service Specifications:

• Drain, disconnect and remove the plate pack assembly of the two heat exchangers. (111 plates per heat exchanger)

• Gaskets must be removed and plates cleaned with chemicals to ensure any fouling, scale, and rust build up on the plates is removed from all plates. This includes inspecting for any deformities of the plates.

• All plates are to be dye-tested to ensure that there are no pinholes or cracks that would allow cross contamination.

• Reassemble the plate packs for the two (2) heat exchangers with 111 plates per exchanger , 222 total . Gaskets are to be glue flow FDA-EPDM gaskets. Ensure proper gasket alignment and tightening bolts to correct torque.

• Replace any bolts that have any deformities.

• Pressure to OEM specs to verify no leaks exist

• Include a price for replacement plates. OEM AK-20 original stainless-steel plates must be provided as replacements.

• Chemical cleaning and dye testing are to be performed off site.
