Snow and Ice Removal Quotes

The City of Waukee is looking for vendors to remove snow and ice on as-needed basis for properties where the owner fails to remove snow and ice. Calls would be 2-3 days after the end of a snow or rainfall event. The City will pay a minimum of 1 hour for each removal.

Submit your quote no later than noon on January 10, 2025. Provide the following information in your email:

1. What related services do you have experience providing?
2. What is your charge per hour for:
   • shovel and/or snowblower
   • pick-up, ATV and/or UTV
   • other (if applicable)
3. What is your minimum charge? (example: a small amount of snow may only take 15 minutes to remove. Do you charge a minimum amount of time, such as one hour, or a set price?)
4. Is there a charge if you show up to the address, but the work is already done? If so, what is that charge?
5. Any other charges, such as:
   • Salt applied: $__per bag
   • Calcium chloride: $__per bag
   • Sawdust, sand, ash: $__

6. What insurance carrier provides your Certificate of Liability Insurance?

When contacted by the City, property maintenance vendors shall make every attempt to bring a subject property into compliance within 24 hours. The City expects that all trash, debris and other items are picked up and the area inspected before snow removal. The City of Waukee is not responsible for damage to vendor equipment. All contractors must be insured and provide the City with proof of insurance.

Following receipt of quotes, the City shall maintain a list of vendors that shall be listed in order by job function and price. When a vendor is needed to bring a property into compliance, a City of Waukee representative will start at the top of the list and make calls, texts and/or emails for availablity. They will move down the list as needed until a vendor confirms availability for the work.
