NOTICE OF SINGLE SOURCE TO THE PUBLIC
Shelby County Government has identified a single source purchase for the goods/services as
listed below. This notice is not a request for bid, proposal, or qualifications.
Single Source - Planning Interns for Planning and Development Division
The vendor will provide three interns that include the following:
Academic or experiential background in urban planning, with specialization in land use,
transportation, and/or long-range planning preferred. Academic or experiential background in
engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, or real estate development is a plus. Experience
with ESRI ArcGIS preferred.
Job duties may include:
* Planning research
* Assistance with ongoing planning programs or processes
* GIS analysis and visualization
* Public outreach efforts
* Other related duties as assigned or directed
1. To be eligible for selection, students must be enrolled in the Master in City and Regional
Planning program and
2. Must be recommended to DPD by the Chair of the Department of City and Regional
Planning at the University (Department).
Procurement Timing/Deadlines:
1. Intern program begins on September 1, 2026 and ends on April 30, 2027.

In accordance with Shelby County's Purchasing policy, notice of single source will be posted on
the County's website for seven (7) days prior to award.
Notice expires on August 28, 2026 at 2:30 p.m.
