Simsbury Zoning Regulation Update

The Town of Simsbury’s Zoning Regulations were originally adopted by the Zoning Commission on October 2, 1933. Various ordinance changes were made over the years, which resulted in periodic, disconnected revisions that resulted in a number of inconsistencies and contradictions. Additional reorganization efforts of the town-wide regulations focused on illustrative additions and reformatting. The reformatting was not successful as numerous mistakes, numbering and ordering errors, incorrect section references, and strange font inconsistencies remain. The document today is confusing, difficult to interpret, and in several places inconsistent with State and Federal law.
