Sign Language Interpreters for the New York State School for the Deaf

The New York State School for the Deaf (NYSSD) is seeking Sign Language Interpreters (Interpreters) to provide both onsite and video remote interpreter (VRI) services throughout the NYSSD campus on an “as needed basis”. This RFP is for both on-site and video remote interpreter (VRI) American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services; bidders applying to this request must be able to provide both services.

Subcontracting may be permitted with interpreters as independent consultants (non-employees of the bidder) however, services must be coordinated by the bidding organization and all other requirements set forth by the contract must still be maintained.

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) will award one contract pursuant to this IFB. The contract resulting from this IFB will be for a term anticipated to begin November 14, 2023 and to end November 13, 2028.

Service Area: New York State School for the Deaf, 401 Turin Street, Rome NY; occasional services off-site, typically in the Utica/Rome area.
