Synopsis:
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City of Regina (the “City”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for Service Provider for Low-Barrier Youth Safe Space. The City is seeking proponents who will establish and operate a youth safe space for youth to come 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. There should be a particular focus on programming for youth ages 5 to 15. The successful proponent will be experienced in providing culturally informed and positive youth care in Regina, demonstrating an ability to deliver high-quality programming in a safe location. Ideal proponents will leverage partnerships within the community to ensure continuity in service provision for years to come.
A 24-hour, 7 day a week safe space for youth was identified as the top priority in the Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) Action Plan (see Annex D). Community highlighted the need for these low-barrier spaces, specifically created by and for youth, to provide wrap around programming that is positive, culturally informed and creates opportunities for youth to succeed. The youth safe space deliverables are further described in the RFP.
