Service contract for two epMotion instruments in the Newborn Screening Laboratory

The Minnesota Department of Health intends to enter an agreement with Eppendorf North America for the purchase of a service contract for two epMotion instruments in the Newborn Screening Laboratory.

This has been deemed a single source, as Eppendorf is the only company that can provide this service for our lab equipment due to warranty requirements, instrument specifications only known by Eppendorf, and minimal downtime for these instruments due to the critical nature of newborn screening disorders and some that can lead to death without timely diagnosis. Eppendorf provided a Sole Source letter confirming that they are the sole provider authorized to service Eppendorf products.
