Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction - Hydrogen Fueling Solutions for…

This Request For Information seeks to build the Ministry’s understanding of the readiness of the market to supply one or more mobile or temporary hydrogen fueling stations in support of the government vehicle fleet strategically located in or near Edmonton, Alberta. Key objectives are described in Section 3 of the attached Request for Information document.

The Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction has a mandate to advance this priority:

“Acquiring expressions of interest from private sector investors to establish a network of hydrogen vehicle and electric vehicle (EV) recharge stations throughout the province, with a focus on partnering with the retail and hospitality industries, and work towards adding hydrogen and EV stations to the commercial safety rest areas expansion program”

To support the Minister’s mandate, and as responsible stewards of Alberta’s program resources and natural environment, the Ministry has begun exploring the extent to which hydrogen and electric energy solutions can sustain government fleet operations amidst global challenges. This RFI addresses potential fueling requirements in Edmonton and region supporting any transition to use of hydrogen vehicles in government operations.

Responses to the RFI are intended to inform any future procurement activities related to the acquisition of temporary (bridging) fleet hydrogen fueling solution(s) located in Edmonton and area.
