THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND NOT A COMPETITIVE REQUEST FOR QUOTE.
The National Park Service, Contracting Operations Central, Arizona Major Acquisition Buying Office, intends to issue a Sole Source award Sunsus MXU supply contract for the Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.

Grand Canyon National Park located in Coconino County; Arizona operates a potable water system throughout the developed areas of the Park that utilize a SENSUS based radio read water read system to measure the amount of potable water delivered to the end user. The National Park Service has been installing remote radio read, potable water meters throughout the Park since 1995 and has installed approximately 800 water meters in that time.

Moving forward with the new water meter reading system, the MXU models ending in R will not compatible. Replacing the MXUs will keep us on track for eventually moving to a DOI-approved tablet and ios setup.

The contractor will be responsible supplying new MXU’s to replace what is currently in place. New MXU’s will need to be delivered to Grand Canyon National Park. All MXUs supplied by the contractor must be compatible with the Park’s current SENSUS water meter-remote radio read meter system telemetry software.

This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures and will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 335999 with a Small Business Size Standard of 600 employees.
