The City of Seattle is seeking qualifications for Seattle Center Real Estate Consulting Services . Qualifications are due no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 . All questions are to be submitted through the e-procurement portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/seattle no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 .
The 5th and Mercer Block was acquired by the City of Seattle in 1946. The property has been owned and managed by the City of Seattle’s Seattle Center Department since the department was establishment by City Council ordinance in 1965. From 1984 until early 2024, the property was ground leased to Cascade Public Media (formerly KCTS-9).
Seattle Center’s long-term goal for this 2-acre property is to see a new development there that supports and complements Seattle Center’s core mission of creating high-quality public programs and events. A successful real estate strategy for the 5th and Mercer Block will maximize the block’s potential to create ongoing revenue for Seattle Center to underwrite its public programming, provision of public services, and stewardship of its historic 74-acre public campus.
