Project Description: The Austin Independent School District (herein after referred to as “AISD” or the “District”) is seeking proposals from firms qualified and experienced in providing school bus safety products and services. AISD, like other districts, is considering installation of video camera systems to record the images of vehicles and drivers passing a school bus while the red lights are flashing, and the stop-arm is deployed. Our goal is to eliminate the illegal passing of stopped school buses. Austin ISD has been doing this program since 2016 under the City of Austin ordinance No. 20150604-057.
