Title: SCADA TELEMETRY SYSTEM STUDY AND SURVEY
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 6/6/2025
Due Date: 6/25/2025
The Town of Manchester Water and Sewer Department is seeking a capable and reliable contractor to conduct a comprehensive study and survey of the telemetry system for its Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) infrastructure in Manchester, CT. The project aims to assess the current telemetry system’s condition, identify deficiencies, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance communication reliability, data acquisition, and operational efficiency.
The Manchester Water and Sewer Department operates water and wastewater treatment facilities serving Manchester, Connecticut, and portions of Glastonbury and surrounding towns. The water system includes 16,500 domestic service lines, 1,047 fire and irrigation services, and delivers an average of 5 million gallons of water daily. The water supply consists of seven reservoir impoundments and ten groundwater wells, with a total capacity of 9.8 million gallons per day. The distribution system comprises approximately 260 miles of water mains, ten storage tanks, and five pumping stations. The SCADA system monitors and controls critical assets, including wells (e.g., Well 6, Well 7A), pump stations, tanks, and treatment facilities, relying on telemetry data from sensors and equipment. The department seeks to assess its current telemetry system to guide future upgrades, ensuring reliable communication and operational efficiency.
