Overview
Summary

The City is seeking to design and deliver a Saturday Academy that provides enrichment and academic support to rising 8th through 11th grade students attending targeted schools in St. Petersburg. The selected vendor will work collaboratively with the Pinellas County Schools Office of Strategic Partnerships to determine school sites and identify participating students. The goal is to interrupt academic slide and promote student growth through nontraditional, tech-enabled, and student-centered strategies. Parent engagement and regular communication on student progress are essential components of this initiative.

Background

The City of St. Petersburg is committed to supporting the advancement of youth achievement and educational thriving through innovative academic support initiatives that reflect Mayor Welch’s Pillars for Progress and Principles for Responsible and Accountable Government. These include a strong emphasis on Education and Youth Opportunities and ensuring that public investments deliver measurable impact for our residents. The Saturday LEAD program represents an opportunity to partner with a qualified organization to implement a high-quality, innovative Saturday Academy that strengthens academic performance and prepares students to thrive—not just catch up—by year’s end.
