DESCRIPTION OF GOOD(S)
We are seeking to source options for beds (all types), stretchers and mattresses (supportive surfaces) and related original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and services including parts to assist in streamlining options for all our facilities, homes and programs across the provinces through replacement of aging equipment. Multiple vendors will be considered to fulfill this requirement.

SPECIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following are Mandatory Requirements:
1. "Medical Device License”. Equipment must have a valid Medical Device License issued by the Therapeutic Products Directorate of Health Canada (if applicable).
2. The Equipment must meet all Health Canada recommendations in terms of trapping: “GUIDELINE, Hospital beds for adults: Risk of Patient Entrapment, Reliability of Barrier Locking, and Other Risks,” available at

3. Proponents must adhere to the following IP&C standards:

Basic Minimum Technical and Operational Needs for all Beds
Warranty - Please indicate how long the product will be supported (Parts/Service)
Weight Capacity – minimum 450-500 lbs (standard beds)

Clear access to get lift under

Corner Bumpers
Length & Width Extensions
Lowest level bed can go to – 10 inches (lower for LTC) – More specific if it is a requirement
Annul maintenance and servicing province wide

The estimated contract period will be 60 month(s).
