Safety and accessibility study on MN 51 from W 7th St to Dayton Ave

Brief Description: MnDOT requests letters of interest (LOI) from consultants for partnership for MnDOT’s safety and accessibility transportation study of MN 51 from W 7th St (MN 5) to Dayton Ave in St. Paul in coordination with local project partners, including the Metropolitan Council, Ramsey County, and the City of St. Paul. The study is needed to inform design and construction of future improvements to MN 51. Anticipated plans will look at pedestrian safety and accessibility, vehicle safety, spot mobility improvements, access management, and multimodal needs in the corridor for people using transit, rolling, bicycling along the corridor. This study will seek to broadly understand the needs and opportunities of all transportation users in the corridor; identify and understand the issues and needs/opportunities of the corridor; develop and screen concepts that addresses the purpose and need; eliminate unreasonable alternatives; and produce a project development plan used by the state to inform future project in the study area.
