Route 66 Refresh Project

PROJECT NAME: Route 66 Refresh Project MS26-112

This project is a targeted beautification and safety initiative focused on revitalizing distressed commercial properties along the historic Old Town Route 66 corridor. The program aims to reduce exterior blight, enhance visual appeal, and improve public safety through coordinated, high-impact exterior improvements that celebrate the Route 66 identity and strengthen the community’s economic vitality.

Through this program, the City will fund and coordinate one-time exterior maintenance and repair services. Work may include graffiti removal, exterior painting using City-selected designs, installation of solar-powered security lighting, replacement of damaged boards with U.S. Route 66–branded polycarbonate panels, signage removal, fencing repair, debris and vegetation removal, and other exterior enhancements. The scope is intentionally focused on visible, transformative improvements that can be delivered efficiently and consistently across multiple properties.

The Route 66 Refresh Project presents an opportunity for qualified vendors to partner with the City on a highly visible community improvement effort with clear standards, defined scopes of work, and a strong civic mission. Vendors selected will play a key role in restoring pride of place, improving neighborhood conditions, and supporting the long-term revitalization of Victorville’s Old Town corridor.
